Tiamo organize fully equipped Boat which makes blue water fishing fun and easily accessible from the resort.

The large area of water surrounding the resort is not commercially fished and sees few fishermen. This means there are plentiful supplies of wahoo, innumerable varieties of snapper and grouper, Mahi Mahi caught on both fly and bait and several species of Tuna to name a few.

Eating what you catch is the Tiamo principle so fish caught are then freshly prepared by the Chef or member of his team and served in the restaurant the same day.

Blue water fishing trips can range from regular ‘fun fishing trips,’ to the reef less than three miles away using deep drop electric reels for a full days deep fishing in the Tongue of the Ocean, where among many other species, marlin and sailfish are regularly seen.

Reef Fishing: Yellow tail, Red, Grey and Mutton Snapper, Strawberry Grouper, Trigger fish, Grunts, Barracuda, Jacks and Porgy… The lobster season is open from August 1st to March 31st.

Offshore Fishing: Wahoo, Yellow and Black-fin Tuna, Mahi-Mahi (Dorado), Kingfish, Albacore…

And of course, at Tiamo we take protecting our marine environment as seriously as our above-ground efforts, so we endorse a catch-and-release policy and the use of barbless flies only.
