Bahamians know how to ring in the New Year

The holidays are often complex, stressful times that somehow in the mix of all of it we forget the simple joy of celebrating in the company of others. At Tiamo – even our New Year’s celebration is a simple low-key affair focusing on the beauty of The Bahamas and its people.

Our primary package for this holiday includes seven nights at Tiamo (with all of our normal amenities – see below) and round trip* air from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on LynxAir direct to South Andros Island. Your arrival date for this package is December 26th and your departure back to reality is January 2nd.

As you may know, at Tiamo we focus on a high level of service (over 30 staff members) for our exclusively limited number of guests (22 in total). We call this “barefoot sophistication.” and it seems to bode well because our guests want to return. Our daily rate at Tiamo includes almost everything you will need for this one-of-a-kind vacation experience. Your private bungalow on our remote beach, your delectable meals, and as much "or little"  to do as you want -- are all wrapped into a simple daily per-person complete package rate. The only real decision you have to make is whether you would like to purchase one of our special island cocktails or a fantastic bottle of wine for dinner. Everything else you need is taken care of.

Your stay at Tiamo includes:

• Accommodation in just one of eleven private beachside bungalows built for two
• King-size bed (2 twins by request)

• All Snacks – You'll love our fresh baked cookies and sunset hors d'oevres
• Nightly Gourmet Dinners – a culinary Caribbean delight served by candlelight on white linen with our famous “fun-team” dining staff in our cozy lodge
• Your Morning Coffee – Delivered to your bungalow at your requested time—but only if you request, as we take "do not disturb" quite seriously
• Daily Maid Service
• Use of Kayaks – For access to all the amazing near shore marine life – starfish, conch, sea cumbers, creeks, mangroves and more...
• Use of Sailboats – These are landlubber friendly trimarans that anyone can sail!
• Use of the snorkeling equipment – View the amazing marine wildlife that makes Andros world-renowned.
• Daily Biologist-Guided Nature and Eco-tours – Snorkeling, kayaking or hiking (weather dependent), the Nature Concierge Team will help you learn about these amazing ecosystems.
• All (land and water) local airport transportation – Tiamo is boat access only, no traffic here

And for the New Year’s Junkanoo! week package we also include:

• A Bahamian Rake & Scrape Party – to get you warmed up for New Year’s – we bring in a local Bahamian band on the night of the 30th.
• Junkanoo! – This is a Bahamian cultural event you will not soon forget. Just before sunset our local Junkanoo crew – a brightly costumed team of drummers, horns, dancers and percussionists perform their “rush” (a rhythmic procession) down the beach to the huge bonefire. As the sky juice (gin & coconut water) and Bahamian rum punch kicks in, you will find yourself moving to the Junkanoo beat along with the Junkanoo dancers. You will work up an appetite!
• The New Year’s Eve Dinner – our culinary team will astound you with this nine course meal. A gastronomic festival of Caribbean food served festival style at the grand table.
• The Party – After dinner the Tiamo staff will join guests for an evening of music, dancing and complimentary champagne toasts. The Tiamo team acts as DJ’s and integrates you into a true Bahamian dance party welcoming in the New Year. While things may get hot – its still a Tiamo low-key affair. Just step outside and look at the stars…
• New Year’s Day Brunch – Mimosa’s compliment this just a little bit later than normal breakfast affair.
• New Year’s Night Bahamian Story Telling – join around the fire for a pre-dinner Bahamian story telling event that will make you smile and get a little taste of local Bahamian custom and lore.

Not covered in your stay"

• Drinks from our bar, stocked with a fantastic wine list and only the best of liquors (the girls have come up with some great concoctions). The only tough thing here is making your decision!
• A $14 per night per person hotel tax (the king always demands his due)
• Any discretionary gratuities you may choose to leave for our wonderful staff – we typically recommend 10% on your room and drinks, but you get to make that decision.

Tiamo New Year's Eve Junkanoo! Package Rate*:

7 Night (Air Inclusive) $3,115 per person.

*Applicable rates for December 26th through January 2nd.

Rates for stay less than seven nights or for variations on the package dates are:

Double Occupancy - $445 per person per night.

Single Occupancy is not available during this exclusive period.

As we are a small property we require a 50% deposit on your reservation at the time of booking.

For the New Years Week, this deposit is refundable up to 60 days prior to your arrival subject to a 7% processing fee. If a cancellation occurs after 60 days prior to your arrival, the deposit is subject to forfeiture unless the reservation can be resold. At 30 days prior to your arrival, the remaining amount of your stay will be charged and is non-refundable.

Note: Because of the remote atmosphere and orientation of the activities and facilities here at Tiamo, we graciously ask that Tiamo not be considered as a vacation destination for children 14 and under.
