Tiamo, The Quintessential Unspoilt Luxury Island Hideaway In The Bahamas

Bonefishing

Andros is known as the bonefishing capital of the world and Tiamo is situated right in the heart of it. Much of the area is a National Nature reserve which gives incredible access to untapped fishing.

Our experienced guides fish a vast area of Andros Island in the interest of providing you with the best fishing opportunities. You may fish the waters of the South Bight, all the way to the incredible picturesque and wade friendly waters around “Water Cay’ where shoals of bonefish over a hundred yards across are often seen. Or you may head North to the fabled ‘ “Land of the Giants” where some of the largest bonefish can be found.

Tiamo fishing gives you immediate access to uncountable flats and undisturbed tidal creeks.
Bonefish tend to be the primary target but there are several areas on the West Side with resident Tarpon. Permit appear when least expected and for excitement on a slow day, barracuda, snapper and sharks can all be caught on fly.

If you are bonefishing for the first time then guided half days are possible. Or for the greatest challenge, set out wading or kayaking from the resort and see if you can first spot and then catch the ‘ghost of the flats’ by yourself.

For the serious fisherman and his or her non fishing partner, Tiamoresorts offers unparalleled luxury: from heavenly rooms and service to fine dining, relaxation, amazing water based activities and, of course, world class bonefishing.

Don Causey, Editor of the world famous, Angling Report, recently wrote *of his visit to Tiamoresorts: “The South Bight is, quite simply, a world class place to fish. The fish are big and relatively un-pressured. North and South of the mouth are miles of almost un-fished flats. Bonefish of ten pounds are not unusual. Having access to this kind of *fishing while staying at such an amenity-rich luxury resort is truly quite remarkable!”
